Plastic Dip Coating gives a thicker coating than powder coating, giving it a softer feel. This is ideal for components which are handled regularly, e.g. control handles and levers. Items to be plastic dip coated are initially degreased to ensure maximum coating adhesion. Once clean they are loaded into a rotary oven and heated to 300 - 400 degrees centigrade. After heating, the items are removed from the oven and dipped into a bath of fluidised plastic powder. The powder sticks to the hot metal item, which is then removed and hung to cool. The residual heat in the item continues to heat the powder coating, flowing it to form a smooth and hard-wearing coating. We stock a range of plastic dipping powders including PPA and polyethylene. Powders can be ordered to your requirements upon request. With our oven and dip coating facility we can accommodate items up to 900mm in length. |
